We love Riviera Maya for destination weddings. It’s easy to get to, and contains lots of hotels that function as wedding locales or honeymoon destinations. Among the most elegant is Banyan Tree Mayakoba. They debuted their newest wedding place, the chapel in El Pueblito. The plaza is designed to remember the town squares that you find only this is private to the hotel so you have everything to yourselves.
The inside of this chapel is simple yet stunning backdrop and chandeliers alters. Services are offered by the chapel and functions for a religious ceremony in addition to ones that are non-denominational.
Baynan Tree also includes a stunning La Copa Terrace onsite; just off the lobby, it overlooks the mangroves and lagoon which make the hotel so unique. It’s possible to use only a part of it for your service (this one was created by Planner 1 Events, based in Riviera Maya) or simply take over the entire area for parties of up to 300 people.
The most popular spot is the beach. Mayakoba has its own curve of beach reachable by a path in the resort’s beach residences, so privacy is ensured — something not doable on the bigger beaches along the shore.
This service set-up by Cancun-based Grupo Gama is totally apropos into the place, using manzanita branches, which are utilized in crafts and native to Mexico. Add chairs that are linen-tied and some basic pomanders and you have.
The catering team of Banyan Tree designed these fab textured white cakes, which pop next to native heliconia and a table runner.
In terms of the honeymoon, Banyan Tree has you covered for this, also. The pool suites here are a few of the sexiest we have seen, with high walls to keep out prying eyes. Some have living area that is separate and an outdoor jacuzzi as well.
King platform beds are all located for views of the space, creating an indoor/oudoor living experience.
We also love the bathrooms, with stunning tiled countertops, oversize rainshower and outside garden tub.
Here’s how it looks all dressed up for a romantic day. Romantic, huh?
We’ve got one word, aptly spelled out in this seating arrangement by Archive Mexico and Grupo Gama: LOVE!
